1. Introduction
Dartboard Energy, Inc. ("Dartboard," "we," "us," or "our") provides AI-driven operational logging software for battery energy storage system (BESS) operators. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our services or receive communications from us.
By using the service or receiving SMS messages from us, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
a. Information you provide. When you sign in or interact with our service, we collect your email address and basic profile details (such as name and profile picture if signing in via Google), and any data you enter into the application (custom settings, preferences, voice notes, structured fault log entries, photo attachments, and other operational records).
b. Phone number and SMS data. If you sign up to receive SMS messages from Dartboard, we collect the phone number you provide via our SMS opt-in form (or in your reply to a verification SMS), the content of any SMS messages you send to us in reply, any photos or attachments you share via MMS, and message metadata such as timestamps, delivery status codes, and consent records (your YES confirmation reply, any STOP opt-out reply).
c. Automatically collected data. We may collect information about how you use the service, such as the pages you visit and interactions with features, as well as device and browser information including IP address, browser type, and operating system, for security and debugging purposes.
d. Telemetry and operational data. Where authorized by our customers, we ingest site telemetry data (e.g., from EMS providers, historians, or data warehouses such as Snowflake) and process it within the service to detect, classify, and document operational events.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Authenticate your identity and provide secure access to the service.
- Operate the service, including sending operational notifications and processing your responses.
- Attach inbound responses (text, voice, or photo) to the corresponding event records.
- Maintain compliance documentation required by mobile carriers and applicable regulations (proof of consent, opt-out records, message logs).
- Analyze usage trends to improve the service.
- Comply with legal requirements and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
4. Data Sharing & Third-Party Services
We use carefully selected third parties to operate the service. These providers receive only the data necessary to perform their function and are bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations.
- Authentication and database. We use providers such as Supabase or equivalent infrastructure to store user credentials and application data.
- SMS delivery. We use Twilio, Inc. as our SMS delivery provider. Phone numbers and message content pass through Twilio's infrastructure and are subject to Twilio's privacy practices (twilio.com/legal/privacy).
- Cloud infrastructure. We use cloud hosting providers (e.g., AWS) to operate the service. Customer data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Payment processing. Where applicable, we use Stripe to process subscription payments.
We do not sell, rent, or share SMS data, customer telemetry, or operational records with any third parties for marketing purposes.
5. SMS Communications and Data
If you receive SMS messages from Dartboard Energy as part of our operational logging service, the following describes how we handle your information specific to SMS:
What we collect. Your phone number, the content of inbound SMS messages and MMS attachments, and consent and delivery metadata as described in Section 2(b).
Why we collect it. Solely to operate the operational logging service, attach your inbound responses to the corresponding event records, and maintain compliance documentation.
Mobile information sharing. We do not share, sell, or rent your mobile phone number, SMS opt-in data, or SMS message content with any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes. The only third party that receives your phone number and message content is Twilio, Inc., our SMS delivery provider, and only as required to deliver and receive operational messages on our behalf, subject to Twilio's own privacy practices.
How long we keep it. SMS message content and delivery metadata are retained for the duration of your enrollment plus up to 12 months thereafter for audit and compliance purposes. Consent and opt-out records are retained indefinitely as required by mobile carrier and regulatory rules.
Your rights. You may revoke consent at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive. After opting out, you can request full deletion of your phone number and associated SMS content by emailing support@dartboardenergy.com.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain personal information as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can request deletion of your personal information by emailing support@dartboardenergy.com. Upon request, we will delete your personal information unless we are required to retain certain information by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., regulatory compliance, audit records).
7. Security Measures
We take security seriously and implement industry-standard measures to protect your data, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS) and at rest.
- Restricted access controls based on principle of least privilege.
- Continuous monitoring for unauthorized access.
While we strive to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. You use the service at your own risk.
